Miniature Convoluted FSS for Gain Enhancement of a Multiband Antenna

نویسندگان

چکیده

Convoluted elements on a frequency selective surface (FSS) allow for low to be contained in physically smaller unit cells. Smaller cells give the FSS greater angular stability, especially where curved is required, and so unwanted grating effects are avoided. A convoluted element with rejection band centred at 2 GHz cell area of 15 mm by ( $0.10\,\,\lambda \times 0.10\,\,\lambda$ ) has been developed. To test its usefulness, full structure used as parabolic reflector dual antenna operating 1 GHz. Simulated measured results close both bands. The high gain 12.7 dBi (simulated) 11.7 (measured). observe stability therefore effectiveness reflector, it was compared copper Simulation produced 13.3 which very that reflector. simulated plot similar indicating good stability. also 9.3 8.7 no only rear 10 place causes significant attenuation frequency. would useful creation gain, multiband, conformal antennas.

Designing a Multiband Multi Polarization BTS Antenna

In this paper, a new antenna is presented which has an application in cellular telecommunication systems. The designed antenna works at the frequency range of 1900-2600 MHz which is able to cover 2G, 3G and 4G (LTE) services of the cellular telecommunication. In this paper, the micro-strip structure has been used to design the antenna. The shape of the patches is triangular where a peripheral r...

High Gain FSS Aperture Coupled Microstrip Patch Antenna

This paper presents a high-gain cavity resonant antenna (CRA), consisting of an FSS layer placed above an aperture coupled microstrip patch antenna (ACMPA). Geometry of the proposed FSS superstrate is highly reflective with |Γ > 0.9|. Ray-tracing method has been employed for determining the resonant condition of the antenna. ACMPA operating at S-band is serving as a feeding source. The coupling...

Microstrip Antenna Gain Enhancement using Near Zero Refractive Index Metamaterials

Some useful features of microstrip patch antennas are low profile, low weight and easy fabrication. However this type of antenna suffers from having a low gain, caused by propagation surface waves. In this paper, a new near zero refractive index metamaterial (MTM) unit cell is designed and fabricated as a superstrate over a Rectangular Microstrip Patch Antennas (RMPA). In order to obtain a maxi...

Design of Stable High-Gain Multiband Circular Microstrip Antenna

Some recent investigations on multiband microstrip antennas have been focused upon obtaining the frequencies of interest, however, much less attention is paid to obtain a relatively stable high-gain [1], [2]. A single-layer circular microstrip antenna with 2-D defected ground structure (DGS) was reported to obtain the stable gain [3]. However, it might be difficult to increase the gain of this ...

Slotted Antenna for Multiband Applications

This paper presents the design of elliptical slot antenna for multiband applications. The suggested antenna covers L-band, WIMAX, WLAN and X band. By placing inverted T-shaped stub and three reverse U-shape stubs, the resonating characteristics of the antenna are observed. The resonating frequencies are 1.95, 4.14, 5.05, 5.89 and 9.15 GHz respectively. The designed antenna shows good return los...
